Yukon Canada Resorts, Lodges and Retreats provide some of the best opportunities to explore the wilderness backcountry of the Yukon Territory. Many are imbedded in the backcountry areas of the territory providing access to a wide selection of wilderness adventures.

Some resorts are commercial resorts and are located in the centre of larger communities. These resorts are not as connected to the wilderness but do provide access to tour and guiding companies for backcountry adventures. Commercial resorts are ideal for business and for close proximity to community services.

A wilderness resort, lodge and retreat, in most cases, combines accommodation with adventure. Many of the wilderness accommodations specialize in one or more year round adventures.

For travelers it is an opportunity to enjoy the Yukon Territory while spending quality time in the wilderness backcountry and still partake in activities like backpacking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and hunting in the summer months... and snowmobiling, cross country skiing, backcountry skiing, dog sledding and ice fishing in the winter months.

The Yukon seasons and the location play a large part when selecting the mode of transportation used to access a resort or lodge. Some accommodations are easily reached from highways while others are remotely accessed via gravel roads, helicopters, float planes, ice roads and bush planes.
