Fox Trail : Faro, Yukon, Canada

Fox Trail is a one-way recreation trail in the Campbell Region in the community of Faro, Yukon Territory, Canada. The community trail explores the back country hills on the outskirts of the village of Faro. Much of the route explores a rebuilding forest with some peek-a-boo views of the village.

The Fox Trail follows along an old gravel road and multi track trail. There are sections of the trail exploring through a forest and many sections include hills. The recreation route enjoys activities like hiking and mountain biking in the summer months. During the winter the trail becomes a snowmobile route.

There are a few ways to access the Fox Trail. There is a trailhead for the Fox Trail on the Bear Trail and there is another trailhead on the Van Gorder Trail. The Fox Trail can also be accessed from the end of McQuesten Road.

The southern trailhead to the Fox Trail is best reached from the Bear Trail. There is an access trail located off of Douglass Drive. At the junction of the access trail and the Bear Trail take a right and follow the Bear Trail for about 500 metres to the Fox Trail and Eagle Trail trailheads.

The Fox Trail begins by climbing to a hill top. After about 350 metres the Fox Trail veers right and begins running parallel to the Bear Trail. Continue following the Fox Trail for about 1.6 kilometres until it connects to the Van Gorder Trail and the Wolf Trail.

Be aware you are in Bear Country. The Fox Trail is well known for the many cranberry bushes in the area. In September the locals pick the berries. Berries attract bears. Always make noise in the wilderness and when confronted by wildlife always give them the right of way. When enjoying the wilderness always prepare for your adventure by dressing in layers and bringing plenty of water.
