Wolf Trail : Faro, Yukon, Canada

Wolf Trail is a recreation adventure in the Campbell Region in the community of Faro, Yukon Territory, Canada. The community trail explores the back country hills and wilderness forests eventually leading to the old Faro Mines. The route leads away from the village.

The Wolf Trail follows along an old gravel road and some single track trails. There are long sections of the trail exploring through a forest and there are areas of the trail which involves some uphill hiking.

The one way route enjoys activities like hiking and mountain biking in the summer months. During the winter the trail becomes a snowmobile route.

The route is a one-way route. However, if you combine the route with Mitchell Road (main road in the area) the route becomes a loop route leading back to the village centre.

The trailhead for the Wolf Trail in the community of Faro is located on the Fox Trail. The Fox Trail can be best accessed from the end of McQuesten Road.

From the end of McQuesten Road follow Fox Trail for about 250 metres to a junction where the Fox Trail meets the Van Gorder Trail. Do not turn here. Continue on the Fox Trail to the second junction which is where you will find the trailhead to the Wolf Trail.

The wolf trail is a 9-10 kilometre one-way adventure and it is considered more of a mountain bike and snowmobile route than it is a hiking route. For the best downhill mountain biking results begin the Wolf Trail from the mining site.

Be aware you are in Bear Country. Always make noise in the wilderness and when confronted by wildlife always give them the right of way. When enjoying the wilderness always prepare for your adventure by dressing in layers and bringing plenty of water.

How to Get to the Wolf Trail
