Mayo is a small village located on the banks of the Stewart and Mayo Rivers in the Silver Trail Region of the Yukon Territory, Canada. Mayo is the largest village of the 3 very small villages (Mayo, Keno City and Stewart Crossing) located on the Silver Trail Highway in the Stewart Valley area.

Mayo is located in the traditional territory of the Na Cho Nyak Dun First Nation people (Big River People). In 1992 the Na Cho Nyak Dun First Nation people won the right to manage their own lands and the right for self government. Today, many of the First Nation Band offices are located in Mayo.

The village of Mayo was established in 1903 first as Mayo Landing. The community was a mining village between 1914 and 1950. During that time the mining companies would transfer silver ore down from the mines and then store it in Mayo Landing before transporting the ore via sternwheeler (riverboat) to Whitehorse. The Stewart River in Mayo was a transportation route for the riverboats.

Today, there is a self guided historical walking tour in Mayo visiting heritage buildings and museums dating back to the mining era. One of the more popular buildings is the Binet House Interpretive Centre. It is a tourism info centre, attraction and a museum of historical photos and artifacts.

Other heritage buildings and historical artifacts located on the walking tour include the Taylor & Drury Warehouse & Store, Binet Carriage, Spot Cash Cabin, Revival Hall, Churchward's Tinshop, Fisher House, Christ the King Church and the Masonic Hall.

Some of the services important to travelers located in the village of Mayo include a gas station, restaurant, post office, accommodations, campground, tour operators, airport, floatplane base, ATM, grocery store, liquor store and laundromat.

Mayo is a launching point for many adventures. There are tour groups operating in the region and there are opportunities for self guided adventures also. There are gravel roads, air tours, paddle routes and recreation trails in the area which lead to lakes, wilderness campsites, mountain peaks and rivers.

In the summer months some of the activities enjoyed in Mayo include fishing, hiking, canoeing, atving, horseback riding, flight seeing, swimming, rock climbing, picnicking, backcountry camping and mountain biking. A popular hiking route near Mayo is the Mount Haldane Trail which leads to a viewpoint overlooking mountain ranges and the entire valley.

In the winter months, the snow falls and temperatures drop. The recreation trails and back country gravel roads become snowmobile and cross country ski routes.
