- Fishing . Plenty of opportunity to troll lakes, shore fish and fly fish. Fishing is for arctic grayling, northern pike and lake trout. Fishing rivers include Mayo, Moose and McQuesten Rivers. Fishing lakes include Hanson, Halfway, Minto and Mayo Lakes. Salmon fishing is enjoyed on Stewart River. Fishing guides operate in the region. Must have a fishing licence to fish in the Yukon.

- Hiking. There are many backcountry gravel roads, recreation trails and wagon trails in the Silver Trail region. Some lead to day hikes like Mount Haldane, Devils Elbow and 5 Mile Lake. Others may take longer and a bit more planning like the Conservative Trail and Wind River Trail.

- Canoeing. There are many lakes in the area. Some enjoy drive in access others require a portage. Some of the better lakes for canoeing include Halfway Lakes, Hanson Lake and McQuesten Lake. Stewart River is a preferred river paddle route. There are tours and rentals at some of the lodges in the region. Or bring your own canoe.

- Flightseeing. There are floatplane and helicopter flight seeing tours exploring mountain ranges and accessing remote lakes. Tours cater to sightseeing groups and to adventure tour companies accessing hiking trailheads, canoe routes and fishing lodges. There is a floatplane base on Stewart River and community airport in Mayo.

- Horseback Riding. Visit a Guest Ranch operating in the region or bring your own horse. There are many backcountry gravel roads, recreation trails and wagon trails in the Silver Trail region leading to mountains, valleys and remote lakes. There are horse riding tour operators in the region.

- Mountain Biking. There are many backcountry gravel roads, recreation trails and wagon trails in the Silver Trail region leading to mountains, valleys and remote lakes. One of the better known mountain biking trails is the Conservative Trail.

- Picnicking. Picnic sites are located up and down the Silver Trail Highway. There are remote lakes ideal and there are day use parks ideal for picnicking. Some are easy to access other are hike in only. Just pack a lunch and a picnic site will find you.

- ATVing. There are many backcountry roads in the region, many created from the mining industry when accessing minerals. The trails and roads lead off roaders deep into the wilderness forests and mountains. Some routes include wilderness campsites. The conservation Trail is one of the more popular routes for atving as it leads to lakes.

- Heritage Tours. There are many heritage buildings in Mayo and Keno City. Many are enjoyed on self guided walks. In Mayo visit the Binet House Museum, Andison House, Taylor and Drury Store, Kimbel House and Christ the King Church. In Keno City visit Tolmie Cabin, Beer Bottle House, Hawthorne Cabin, "ma' Erickson'd House, Keno Hill Signpost and the Keno City Mining Museum.

- Cross Country Ski. Many of the backcountry roads and recreation trails in the region become cross country ski routes in the winter months.
