- Sightseeing. The community of Tagish and Carcross, Yukon are two communities located on the sightseeing driving loop tour exploring along the Klondike Hwy and Tagish Road. The route includes many lakes like the Chootla and Crag Lakes. There are areas for stopping and picnicking.

- Fishing. Fishing is enjoyed in many of the lakes in the Southern Lakes region of the Yukon Territory. Some of the lakes in the Tagish area include Marsh, Tagish, Chootla, Crag, Toobally, and 6 Mile River. Fishing includes Lake Trout, Whitefish, Arctic Graylin and Burbot. Must have fishing licence. Boat launches in town.

- Canoeing. There are many waterways in the Southern Lakes region for canoeing. In the Tagish area canoeing is enjoyed on any of the lakes and rivers in the region like Marsh, Tagish, Chootla and Crag Lakes.

- Wildlife Watching. The region around Tagish and Marsh Lakes is full of lakes and forests. It is an ideal environment for Wildlife Watching. Wildlife sightings are often enjoyed while hiking, canoeing, fishing and boating in the region. Watch for bears, moose, caribou, eagles, fox and beavers.

- Birdwatching. Marsh Lake, 6 Mile River and Tagish Lake are in the migratory path of many birds. In the spring months, the region is visited by some of the largest groups of swans and soon later many other waterfowl like ducks, geese, eagles, falcons, hawks and many more.

- Boating. There are many waterways in the Southern Lakes region for boating. The main waterways in the Tagish area for boating include 6 Mile River and Marsh, Tagish Lakes. Boat launches are located in Tagish, Yukon. There are small boat rentals and sightseeing tour companies operating in the region.
