- Sightseeing. The community of Teslin enjoys a long Tlingit First Nation people history. There are some sightseeing destinations created to tell the story of the First Nation people like the Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre and the George Johnstone Museum. There is also a lookout platform on the Alaska Highway with views of Teslin Lake.

- Fishing. Fishing is enjoyed in many lakes of the Southern Lakes region of the Yukon Territory. In the Teslin area fishing is good in the Teslin, Hall and Squanga Lakes. Fishing includes Lake Trout, salmon, whitefish. Must have fishing licence.

- Canoeing. There are many waterways in the Southern Lakes region for canoeing. In the Teslin area canoeing is enjoyed on Teslin Lake and in the Nisutlin Bay and Nisutlin River. Top destination for canoeing with plenty of wildlife is in the Nisutlin River Delta Wildlife Area.

- Wildlife Watching. Teslin Lake and Nisutlin River Wildlife Area are home for many birds and wildlife species. Wildlife viewing can be enjoyed on a driving tour, hiking and on a paddle or boating tour. Wildlife includes moose, bear, caribou, lynx, fax, wolverine and elk.

- Birdwatching. The Nisutlin River Delta is an important feeding ground for local and migratory birds and many species of wildlife. The delta is home to birds like ducks, geese, eagles, falcons, hawks, swans, owls and hundreds more. And home to wildlife like moose, bear, fox, lynx and elk.

- Boating. There are many waterways in the Southern Lakes region for boating. In the Teslin area boating is enjoyed on Teslin Lake and in the Nisutlin Bay. Top destination for boating with plenty of wildlife is in the Nisutlin River Delta Wildlife Area.
